CAS200 Dual Sensor Imaging Configuration

The CAS200 was a dual wavelength imaging microdensitometer.  The two wavelengths were 500 nm and 620 nm, each with a 20 nm bandpass.  This provided independent sensing of typical immunohistochemical two-color stain spectra.  The optical arrangement was such that the original multicolor stained image was separated into two components by the two filters and projected simultaneously onto two separate CCD sensors that were in optical registration.  Independent measurements of the individually stained components were made and the entire image was reconstructed digitally and displayed showing both of the stained components in one image, as shown above. More detail concerning the dual wavelength aspects of the CAS200 system is from reference 33 under Publications.
